| In 1976, Great Northern was approached by a local company that was struggling to find a means to package an innovative new product that they had just started producing. That new product was stretch film, and they needed a safe and economical means to protect it during shipping, handling and storage. The Rollguard product line was developed in response to this need, and its roll cradles met with immediate success.
Through the years, working with a small group of strategic manufacturing partners, Great Northern has taken the patented Rollguard concept and become the roll cradle market share leader for these important, problem-solving products. By offering several material options, including recycled fiber molded pulp, EPS foam and thermoformed plastic, and a wide range of proprietary and functional designs, Rollguard has developed an enviable reputation within its industry. A recent customer satisfaction survey for Rollguard indicated a 100% good or excellent rating in account management, customer service and product quality, and a 99% good or excellent rating on product delivery. (Nobody’s perfect…but some are pretty close!) With 30 years of rolled and cylindrical product packaging experience, we know that no one material or design can accommodate all of the new and complex products being produced today. For that reason, we continue to develop new designs, and can develop customized packaging solutions using a multitude of materials. This proactive nature and entrepreneurial spirit ensure that we can continue to be our customers’ first call for protective packaging solutions. |
